Expert tested and market proven: OptimumDynamics.

Welcome to the go-to tool that’s been proven not only in the world’s most prestigious design offices, but also on race tracks. Just ask Jota Sport who finished second in Le Mans in 2019.

OptimumDynamics is a revolutionary industry game changer because it lets you:

  • Create a fully defined vehicle simulation model in one hour of first starting the software.
  • Design with ease and speed with a modular vehicle modeling system.
  • Create an initial vehicle model with basic vehicle data, then with more data, build a more detailed model.
Our engineers poured years of field vehicle simulation and analysis experience into OptimumDynamics. And their work shows because it combines an efficient workflow with a flexible and accurate solver that has made it the go-to tool that tackles any vehicle dynamics problem.

Overview

Our engineers’ slogan for OptimumDynamics was: Make it useful before making it complicated. And, as soon as you start using it, you can see that’s true.

Like OptimumKinematics, OptimumDynamics is conveniently divided into three parts: Design, simulation, and analysis. This makes defining your vehicle, setting up your simulations, and understanding your results easy. And along with the extensive documentation, help file, and tutorials, OptimumG engineers are ready to field your questions. We’re here to help you get the most out of your simulations.

Vehicle Model

The vehicle model has many parts just like a real vehicle: Tires, brakes, springs, and coilovers—all stored in a library you can quickly access. And, it’s easy to share components between setups. You can build components by bringing in existing data such as bump rubber force curves or aerodynamic maps. You can do this quickly, thanks to data import wizards that work with most data formats. If you have to import data in the same format multiple times, you can easily save import templates to speed up the process.

Simulations

Quickly assemble a vehicle setup by choosing components from your library for a 3-D view.
Avoid the headache of wading through complicated menus to change a parameter by double-clicking on the component in 3-D to make edits.

Bring in track data to understand how the vehicle behaves in real life. Get a deeper understanding of the vehicle by sweeping individual input parameters such as lateral acceleration or speed. You can also sweep through vehicle parameters such as toe/camber angles, ride heights, and spring stiffness. By using the Batch Run feature, you can easily simulate hundreds of vehicle parameter combinations.

You can evaluate different designs and setups from different perspectives:
  • Investigate weight transfer distribution
  • Predict ride heights and chassis movements
  • Import logged data to replay laps and correlate with measured data
  • Evaluate and optimize handling characteristics such as balance and stability

Analysis

You can see results in seconds of completing a simulation with OptimumDynamics analysis and visualization tools. And, with data processing and visualization, you can spot trends and deviations in the data. If you’re an advanced user, tailor the graphing options to fit your specific needs. Plus, create your own outputs by defining Math Channels with an intuitive interface.
